There are a lot of different ways to measure and gauge interest in particular wines. Sales volume and price appreciation are the two most common metrics for measuring interest. But another very revealing metric to gauge interest in wine is users’ searches. 


Below are the 15 producers most commonly searched for on WineBid in 2022. Draw the conclusions you will, but it’s undeniable that the WineBid community had a special interest in the following wines over the past twelve months.


1. Opus One

Since the inaugural 1979 vintage release of this Napa Valley collaboration between the Rothschild and Mondavi families, Opus One has been a perennial favorite among collectors and bidders. It was the #1 most searched for wine at WineBid in 2022.


2. Screaming Eagle

Few wines have captured the imagination and investments of fine wine lovers like Napa’s Screaming Eagle. It remains one of the most sought after wines in the world.


3. Scarecrow

First released in 2003, Scarecrow quickly became a bonafide Cult Wine. There appears to be no waning in the interest it draw from the fine wine community.


4. Sine Qua Non

Manfred Krankl’s intensely flavored and built wines with their unlikely names and brooding labels are among the most highly collectible in the world.


5. Realm
