Joseph Perrier

Joseph Perrier was founded in Chalons-en-Champagne in 1825 by Joseph Perrier. Within a few decades the estate was exporting Champagne throughout Europe. The Perrier family continued to own and run the estate until 1998, when they sold it to Alain Thienot, a wine and Champagne entrepreneur who heads a holding company of nearly a dozen estates in Bordeaux and Champagne. Joseph Perrier owns nearly 60 acres of vineyards and makes 800,000 bottles annually. About 70 % of production is exported. Joseph Perrier makes eight cuvees, four of them non-vintage. The Cuvee Josephine Brut is the domain’s most prestigious bottling, but there is a full portfolio of other cuvees from a Brut Rose, to Demi-Sec and a Blanc de Blancs Brut.
