Hiyu

Hiyu Wine Farm is an organic farm and winery in Oregon’s Hood River area. It was started in 2010 when Nate Ready and China Tresemer bought Pheasant Valley Winery east of Portland, which they expanded, replanting some vineyards and adding farm animals and vegetable gardens. The name of the estate means “abundance or a big party” in the Chinook language, which is indigenous to the local Native Americans. Starting with Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Syrah, the couple has added dozens of European grape varieties. China makes the labels, and Nate makes the wines.
